Pump It Up, the indoor inflatables venue popular for children's birthday parties, has closed at 8510 W. 135th St. in Overland Park.

The closure ends the chain's only presence in Johnson County and the Kansas City metro area, the Johnson County Post reported Sept. 2.

Pump It Up operated the Overland Park location for roughly seven years. The venue sat near 135th Street and Antioch Road, close to Sam's Club and The Big Biscuit. Along with birthday parties featuring giant inflatable bounce houses, the business offered open-play sessions during select hours.

The company, which has its flagship location in California, still operates venues in Washington, Texas and Virginia. No reason for the Overland Park closure has been made public, and no replacement tenant has been announced.
