Ric Koehn is running for Kansas insurance commissioner as the Libertarian Party candidate in the Nov. 3 general election. He faces Republican Daniel Hawkins and Democrat Dinah Sykes.
Koehn said he chose the Libertarian banner because "it is the party that is committed to the free market," according to a Libertarian Party of Kansas questionnaire. His top priority for the office, Koehn said, would be deregulating the insurance industry and moving it toward free-market principles.
Koehn does not have a campaign website and did not respond to a media email requesting details of his campaign, KCUR reported.
