State health inspectors found seven priority and priority foundation violations each at two local restaurants after responding to complaints in late August.

At the Hy-Vee at 7620 State Line Road in Prairie Village, inspectors conducting an Aug. 24 inspection found flies landing on rotisserie chicken, the slicer behind the deli counter and in flight at HyChi, the store's Asian food counter, the Kansas City Star reported. A follow-up inspection took place Sept. 3.

At Kushi Indian Restaurant, 14856 Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park, an Aug. 27 inspection found handwashing sinks next to the grill lacked paper towels. In-house sauces including spinach, mint and malai also lacked date labels. An employee added the dates during the visit, and the food did not have to be discarded. A follow-up was scheduled for Sept. 6.

Results of both follow-up inspections have not been reported.
