Overland Park police are investigating three assaults on women near city parks and trails, the department said in a news release Wednesday, Oct. 21.

In each case, a man approached the woman from behind, according to the department. Police do not believe the incidents are connected, citing differing details, Fox 4 reported.

Police listed the following incident locations and times:

The department has increased bike patrols throughout the city's park and trail system in response, KMBC reported.

"We are sharing this information to inform the public and encourage all community members to stay aware of their surroundings," the department said in its release.
